Counselling FAQs

We've gathered the most common questions to help ease any worries. If yours isn't here, just ask!
- Do I need a referral from my GP? No, you don’t. You can contact us directly, and we’ll arrange an initial chat to see how we can best support you.
- How many sessions can I have? This depends on your needs. Some people find a few sessions helpful, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll discuss this with you and agree what feels right.
- Is counselling confidential? Yes. Everything you share is treated with strict confidentiality. The only exception is if we believe you or someone else is at risk of harm, in which case we have a duty of care to act.
- Is there a cost? We aim to keep counselling affordable and accessible. Some sessions are free, and others are offered at a low cost depending on funding and availability. Please ask us about this when you get in touch.
- Who will I be speaking to? You’ll be supported by trained counsellors who are experienced in helping people with anxiety, depression, stress, and life challenges.
- What if I feel nervous about starting counselling? That’s completely normal. Taking the first step can feel scary, but remember — our team is here to make you feel safe, supported, and heard.
